...all six collective members performed at Mutek, North America's premier experimental electronic music festival, located in Montreal, QC. The festival graciously gave us a 2.5 hour label showcase which occurred on Thursday, June 03 at 5:00PM @ SAT (1195 Saint-Laurent). This was a free event.

...sound installation at the Latvian House (491 College St. W.) for the 2004 Deep Wireless Festival (produced by New Adventures in Sound Art, Darren Copeland Artistic Director) / Threetimesfalling is a work about deceptive listening, narrative decay, the overbearing weight of gravity on physical & emotional states, containment & leakage, junk culture and technological destruction. It is a work designed to capture, dissect and manipulate a single sonic radio event, sculpting new degraded realities from an original source (a short psycho-drama that depicts a heated argument between a man and a woman resulting in an abstract sonic tumble down the stairs - complete with its own background soundtrack).
...Thinkbox members ML + CM travelled to North Bay, ON to perform at the Phantom Power Festival, a three-day fest of video, computer animation, live video mixing, live audio mixing, and live sound art performances. The event took place in a vintage theatre in downtown North Bay; other interesting audio artists performing included: Magali Babin / Tomas Jirku / tobias c. van Veen / Carrie Gates / Jon Vaughn / Kero
...Thinkbox presented a CD release party for their second thematic release at Noi Restaurant;
the event included a meal, a CD listening session (9:15PM-10:30PM) and a performance (10:30PM-2:00AM).
...Thinkbox presented two special events at 2004's Ann Arbor Film Fest in anticipation of their forthcoming editions release, "Guitar".
8pm: Relay 1.2, the third revision of our 6-member audio/video performance, as part of the SuperSonicScreen event / Michigan Theatre, Ann Arbor
10pm: "duets" - an evening of guitar and computer duets / Firefly Club, Ann Arbor
...Ian Hind's 25th B-day party- $5, free b-day cake / The Avalon Front (Windsor, ON, Canada) / opening the night up from 10-11pm.
...SR + CM presented an audio/video collaboration at the University of Michigan's Media Union, as part of the annual Immedia event.
This was a free event, extremely limited capacity (150) / the event began at 8pm.[Note: Monolake did not appear, having cancelled his North American tour due to medical reasons; Dabrye replaced him as the headliner.]
...Thinkbox appeared at Untitled, Detroit's premiere electronic music night / SR + CM presented one of their trademark audio+video sets; BVL debuted a duo set with longtime friend Josh Schnable; Paxahau's Drew Maddox & Keith Kemp also appeared.

...Thinkbox member Mark Laliberte performed at the Vancouver's New Music 'Dangerous Currents' Festival.
The program included Christian Fennesz, Kim Cascone, Arden Hill, Phil Thomson, and Mark Laliberte.
...New Maps-Nouvelles Cartes was an evening of experimental electronic music from across Canada. It aimed to illustrate the depth of talent that exists across the country by showcasing musicians from centres not especially known for their electronic music scene. Geographically diverse, the common thread that connected the invited musicians is their concentration on sonic texture. A feeling of spaciousness is inherent in their sounds, be they synthesized, acoustic, or environmental. Other performers at this event: [SIC] / loscil (Kranky)
...a fire-themed audio performance that combined cut-up, field-recorded sounds of fire and crowds with live electronic sound composition/manipulation; the field recordings used in these compositions were personal recordings taken at 2002's Fahrenheit event, at which the artist was a spectator.
...Thinkbox members CB + RT performed live and conversed on Radio Crackle from 11PM-1AM, on 88.3FM, WCBN Ann Arbor (live stream).
Other performers were Chuck Sipperley & Scott DeRoche (duo performance).
...Thinkbox continued its monthly residency 'Signal' at Milk in Windsor with a special evening of live performances and DJ sets;
Rob Buse (creator of the seq24 sequencer for Linux) appeared with his first area live performance. Thinkbox members SR and BVL supported.

...ML presented a new single-channel video work entitled 'Twitch', a spastic cartoon facial breakdown that runs the viewer through a broad range of emotion in a condensed amount of time ... presented in a window space, this moment of public hysteria is designed to interact with street traffic. Forest City Gallery is located @ 795 Dundas St. in London, ON.
...all six collective members performed at Movement 2003: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival, presenting RELAY version 1.1 - a 6-member audio/video performance.
...SR performed a live experimental, minimal techno set at the Acid Sonic Research Pre-Movement party at detroit contemporary
...CM created a series of short sound/video compositions structured around the ideas of "the landscape" while attending an artists residency in Nairs, Switzerland.
...RT played a special ambient DJ set at Goodnight Gracie in Ann Arbor.
...BVL performed live visual work, in conjunction with a live musical performance by Matthew Dear (Ghostly International).
...Thinkbox continued our monthly residency 'Signal' at the Milk Bar in Windsor.
...BVL performed live at Canterbury House in Ann Arbor. Bill presented a set of new material based on guitar, electronics, and other instruments. Show started at 8:00PM.

...all six collective members presented a special audio/video performance entitled Relay 1.0; this performance featured a member rotation, with each artist performing solo, then dueting with another artist. It was part of the Post Digital Painting series.
...Thinkbox member CM participated in a panel discussion entitled "CYBERVISION - A DIALOGUE ON THE POST-DIGITAL PERSPECTIVE" at Cranbrook. This discussion was part of the Post Digital Painting exhibition, and took place from 2-4pm. Following the panel there was a short screening of recent videos by CM & collaborator Dermot Wilson.
...The first in a series of limited Thinkbox CD-R releases is made available, a live performance by SR + CM from the Immedia festival.
...live from the chromedecay studio in Ypsilanti, a new DJ set by BVL. Features tracks from Hefty, Planet E, Kompakt, and others.

The Audiodrome was a series of four consecutive month-long installations which took place in 1999.
Organized by Thinkbox, these exhibitions presented a selection of works that interpreted and explored music-based audio source materials in specific environments and contexts (it should be noted the concerns of each artist vary; for details see individual member project-statements, below.)
